Master Jan Davis, a 7th Dan Black Belt, is President of Omega Martial Arts - Utah.
She started her training in Martial Arts in California in Kenpo Karate. Sporadic training continued through college, but as marriage and children (5) entered her life, that was temporarily put "on hold". In September, 1983, she brought her 3 older boys (Jason-10, Matt-8 & Richard-6) in to a new Instructor at the Parker Sport Club on the opening day for Omega Karate...his name, Sabumnim Bob Davis.
She watched as Sabumnim Bob gently introduced her young sons to what would become a "Way of Life" for their family...that was a Tuesday, on Thursday, Mom joined as well. The younger son, Rex joined about 6 months later at 5 years old and eventually so did the only little girl, Jami, at two years old.

Shihan Davis tested for Temporary Black Belt in June, 1986; and 1st Dan the following year, amid tears due to the fact that she and her family were moving to Utah after the Black Belt Test.
Moving to Utah began a new chapter in the Davis's lives and in the life of Omega Karate in Utah. As a single Mom, with 5 young kids, it was difficult to open a school so far away from the "hub" of Omega in Colorado; but Sabumnim Bob came over and assisted in negotiations to open in a racketball court at a health club in Orem...that soon switched to a studio in Payson, Utah.
With the help of her five Black Belt children, and Jenny Jarvis, the one school in Payson has grown to 3 schools across Utah County (Payson, American, Springville) and a city-league program in Lehi with Ryan Jackson.
We have truly "enjoyed the journey"...and the journey continues.
